I love how versatile tofu is and different ways of cooking it, fried or deep fried probably tastes the best.

Hi Aeri! I found your website as I was searching for Korean recipes online and I visit your site whenever I wanna know how to make a Korean dish. I find your website really helpful & I seriously admire your cooking skills~ :)
Just wondering, how is this dish differently made from 두부조림? can i just use the same sauce?

    • Aeri Lee

      Hi Jamie,
      Nice to meet you !!!
aha.. 두부조림.. almost similar sauce..but can be a little different too.. the 두부조림 will have some broth for cooking..and.. usually it will not have hot pepper powder.. I will post it someday. thanks :)

Thanks, Aeri, the tofu looks exactly like the one you made here. in square, in its tofu color, ie white, but without sauce or chilli. but they tasted full of flavour, may be they were boiled in soup or broth before serving?! i can’t tell as it’s soooo many years ago. thank you!

    • Aeri

      Hi, chen
Oops~~~ still no clue @,@ All I can think is.. they served the steamed tofu with fried kimchi and pork ??? we have that kind of food… sorry for poor answer.

The sauce is delicious! It tastes good with other things too! I even put them on dumplings earlier today… Thank you. :)

    • Aeri

      Hi, Chris
Haha… exactly.. you are right.. the sauce is good for other things.. like.. on top of fried fish… (just salted fish..and fry it on the pan with oil.. ) or… boiled cabbage… wrap the cabbage with this sauce and rice.. yum~~~ hehe..thanks :)

My friends and I really like this dish. I’ve made it twice already … the first time I used too much soy sauce and it was too salty :(
I have seen another fried tofu banchan in the Korean supermarkets (pre-made) but it doesn’t have red pepper paste but more red pepper powder. Is that the same?

    • Aeri

      Hi, crzycpl
wow.. you already tried twice ??? Thank you !!! hehe.. the one I posted doesn’t have red pepper paste either.. I don’t know exactly what you saw..but I guess…it’s similar with mine.. just have more red pepper powder in it ?? ^^ maybe not..hehe
