Hi, in the last lesson, we talked about the ten basic Korean vowels, “ㅏㅑㅓㅕㅗㅛㅜㅠㅡㅣ.” They are made with the shapes of sky, land, human, or some combination of them. We also learned the proper way to read and write them.
Pickled eggs are one of my favorite American foods. When I tried these for the first time, I thought “Wow! These are GOOD.” 🙂 I like hard boiled eggs and also sweet & sour flavors, so it is a perfect food for me. As you know, beets, eggs, and vinegar are healthy. I highly recommend these eggs. Since I liked them so much, I’ve made them several times, and at the end my husband said “No more please~~~” hehe. Oops, my poor honey. I can eat them more often though. I learnt how to make these from my mother-in-law, who gave me a good recipe for pickled eggs, which was from her husband’s mother. So I want to share this delicious food with you. 😉

Today, I will make a delicious variation of Korean street food, Hotteok. Hotteok is a Korean fried bread with brown sugar and cinnamon filling. By changing the filling, you can make many different versions of it. Among them, I will introduce veggie hotteok. This recipe especially for people who are vegetarians or people that love savory food. I will also show you how to make my delicious dipping sauce for it and share other cooking tricks in this recipe. Btw, I already posted the original hottoek recipe years ago, and my husband and I both think that my dough recipe for this veggie hottoek is even better than the original one. (Don’t get me wrong, the other recipe is delicious too. 😉) So, if you want to try to make sweet hotteok with the dough from this recipe, go for it, it will be great. 🙂 I cannot wait for you to try this recipe and let me know how it turned out. It is that good. 🙂

Today, I will make a trendy Korean food that is fun to make and very delicious. It is a rice burger, which is called “bap burger” in Korean. Bap means cooked rice, and you know what burger is. Instead of using buns for making the burger, we will use cooked rice shaped as buns, as well as using Korean flavored ingredients inside to make this very delicious rice burger. There are many different versions of it, but this time, we will make a tuna-kimchi rice burger, 참치 김치 밥버거. The flavors of tuna and kimchi are great together, so they are used together in many Korean dishes. It sounds like a guaranteed success for this recipe in that point. Plus, it can be a standalone meal, without the need for other things, making it a good choice to pack and carry for a trip or to use it in a lunchbox. 🙂 If you like this rice burger idea, I can share other versions one by one in the future. Let’s get started.

There are so many creative ideas to use for cooking eggs. A rolled egg is one of them. I always like my fried eggs with green onions, and I also wanted to make this recipe even more colorful and flavorful by adding red hot pepper and crab sticks. Instead of shredding the crab sticks or cutting them into little chunks, I will put the crab sticks in the center of the egg roll. The result was as great as I thought it would be, so I highly recommend you to try it. It is fun to make and delicious to taste. 😉
