불고기 쌈, BulGoGi Ssam

Today, I will show you how to wrap Korean BBQ. One of the uniquenesses of Korean cuisine is wrapping BBQ with a variety of leafy greens, other vegetables, and a wrapping sauce called “ssamjang.” How man times have we eaten a main dish and not got enough vegetables in our diet? I know I have done it more times that I would like to admit. In that point, this is a healthy way to enjoy eating meat. You can use this method of eating with many other kinds of Korean BBQ and meat. However, in this post, I will use the Sempio bulgogi recipe that I just posted. I also posted a homemade bulgogi recipe in the past, so you can check it out too. If you are a vegetarian, you can fry some tofu, eggs, or mushrooms and wrap those instead of the meat. That will be delicious too.

Beef and perilla jeon is a creative way of cooking perilla leaves. I like food with a good match of flavors in various ingredients. This food is a perfect example. The unique flavor of perilla tastes great with marinated beef. My husband is still not accustomed to the flavor of perilla, so he usually does not like it. However, he loved this perilla jeon. He said that the raw perilla taste is not strong; the jeon just tastes great.
So, if you see perilla leaves in a Korean or Asian grocery store, please try this someday.

콩나물 밥, KongNaMul Bap

Soybean sprout rice, called kongnamul bap (콩나물밥) in Korean, is a delicious and unique one dish meal. When you make the rice, you cook some marinated meat and bean sprouts together, and then eat it with a special sauce. For this recipe, I used my rice cooker; however, you can also cook the rice on the stove. My husband tried this Korean dish for the first time today and gave an A rating.
I hope that you try this easy and tasty meal someday for your family.

Beef rib jjim, called “sogalbi jjim” in Korean, is a popular traditional holiday or party food in Korea. Since it takes some time for the preparation, marination, and cooking, Koreans usually save this dish for special days. The meat is tender and delicious with a sweet and salty flavor to it. Many people requested this dish, so I am very excited to share my beef rib jjim recipe with you. Try it someday.

Beef and radish guk is a Korean soup that is eaten daily. This can be good for people who like Korean food, but cannot eat spicy food. The marinated beef and radish gives great flavor to the broth, and the texture of cooked radish with tender beef is good together. Try it someday.
