Egg fried rice is a Korean styled fried rice dish. It is a very good recipe to try when do not have enough time or do not feel like cooking much. With only few ingredients such as rice, eggs, and green onions, you can make very tasty meal quickly. This is good more than just a main dish with kimchi or other side dishes; it is also makes a good side dish, even it is not a Korean style meal. If you reduce the amount of salt or oil, this can be good for a kid’s meal too. If you do not know what to cook tonight, then maybe you can try this recipe – if you will have eggs, rice, and green onions.

Fried rice is very common food for Asian cooking. Depending on the Asian country, the ingredients can be slightly different, but not much. Today, I will show you how to make Korean style vegetable fried rice. There are no particular rules for the ingredients. So, you can use any kinds of vegetables you like. If you add some chopped ham, sausage, or hot dogs, it will be very delicious also. (Just reduce the amount of salt in that case.) I like to make fried rice when I have left over rice in the refrigerator. It is a very good way to use your old rice without wasting it. Plus, if your kids don’t want to eat their vegetables, try this dish for them. Not only is it healthy, but it is also yummy. Thanks!!!

Today, I will show you how to make a type of Korean style DeopBaps. As I said, there are many different kinds of DeopBaps in Korea. Wait, you will start to wonder, what is DeopBaps. hehe… It is a Korean word for a certain type of dish – If you serve some food (usually cooked with different kinds of meat, vegetables, and sauce) on top of rice, and you mix the rice with the food before eating, we call that kind of dish, DeopBap. The SoGoGi DeopBap that I’m going to make today is a non spicy type of DeaopBap. The beef has bulgogi flavor, and there are many kinds of vegetables in this dish. Later, I will post different kinds of DeopBaps. See you soon again~~~

Yube Chobap is a Korean style Japanese food. Korea and Japan are very close in distance, there were also various relationships with each other throughout history. As a result, there are some foods that Korea and Japan got from each other and changed, such as Korean style chap-ssal tteok (mochi) that was from Japan. Or in the other case, and example would be Japanese style kimoochi (kimchi) that was from Korea. Anyway, when I was little, I’ve never seen yubu chobap or other kinds of sushi, then at sometime, people started to eat sushi and it became popular in Korea. Since the way to make this dish is super easy, people often make this for picnics (along with Kimbap) or for a party. The rice tastes similar to the rice for sushi which has a vinegar and sugar flavor in it. You can make everything from scratch, but there are some companies that sell a ready-made pack. All you need is cooked rice, some vegetables (if you want extra vegetables), and that pack. So today, I’m going to show you how to use that package. Depending on your taste, you can add chopped burdock root or other kinds of vegetables that you like. I tried different kinds of sweet peppers for this recipe, and I enjoyed eating this. My husband doesn’t like tufu and sweet and sour flavor much, so I guessed he will not like this one. My guessing was right. After he tried some of the seasoned rice, he didn’t want to eat anymore. oops ~~ So I ate all 16 chobaps alone. haha… Anyway, if you like sushi, you might like this dish.

Porridge (죽) is a common dish for patients, babies, or just normal people in Korea. When somebody feels sick or gets an operation, they eat porridge since it’s easier to digest. Porridge brings back your taste when you don’t feel like eating anything. There are so many different kinds of porridge using nuts, grains, seafood, vegetables, beef, or chicken. Some porridge will be sweet like hobak juk (pumpkin porridge) or pat juk (red bean porridge) and some will be very healthy like GgaeJuk (Black sesame Seeds Porridge) or JatJuk (Pine nut porridge). There are some restaurants which is specialized in porridge, which sells many different kinds. Today, I will show you how to make one of my favorite porridge, DakJuk (Chicken porridge). You might be familiar with SamGaeTang (Korean chicken rice soup) if you know about Korean food. This chicken porridge tastes similar to SamGaeTang, but it skips some of ingredients could be difficult to find, such as ginseng, dried dates, etc. This has very simple ingredients, but great flavor. The secret for a great taste is good broth, so I highly recommend that you to boil chicken with the skin and bone to get broth, and not use broth from a can or chicken stock.

Or, maybe it is because they have such a unique feeling when chewing them, that it could be compared to the unique feeling we would get meeting an angel in a dream? hehe Well, whatever the reason is, when I tried angel food cake for the first time in America, it reminded me of this Korean food. Oh wait, of course I’m not talking about the taste, just the name. This noodle is made from seaweed jelly (kelp), and is a low calorie food. If you reduce the amount of mayo or skip it, then it could be a good diet food. Also, it could be good as an appetizer for a party.
