Hi, Aeri!
I wanted to tell you I made the JapChae last Saturday. It was very easy for me to make thanks to you! My husband was not home when I made it, but I had told him I was making something extra special for our church party. I finished the JapChae and took a picture of it on my phone and sent the picture to him via text message. He was so surprised and excited! So we took the JapChae to the party. The party included 6 Americans (3 white, 2 blacks), a Haitian family, Columbians, an Ecuadorian, and of course, my Korean husband (we are a "colorful group!). Everybody loved the JapChae! Our Sunday School teacher, who is Haitian commented "This is REALLY good!"...His wife told me that he is usually a picky eater so for him to say he liked the JapChae was quite a compliment! My husband said the JapChae was very "authentic"! I am so grateful that you have inspired me to make Korean food for my husband (and even my friends!). Next week, I am going to make jjam bbong. Again, thank you for your work and keep on inspiring others!

Yum, this was really good! But I am surprised that you got rid of the garlic cloves..I kept them because for me they are almost the best items in the whole dish! :) Thanks for the great recipe!

hi Yashi,
aha.. you can't eat beef... yes.. you can use chicken..but..... the way to make it will be a little different. Making broth will be same.. use chicken pieces instead of beef.. it will taste better if it has bone and skin or fat ... after make the broth.. just difference is... skip to add seasoning to the chicken.. just tear the cooked chicken ...and put them in the broth when you add the rice cakes..instead you might need more salt in the soup.. you can use fish sauce also if you like it.. rest of things will be same.. I hope you like this too.. thanks

I love this dish. It's so simple yet it has so much flavor. I buy the ferns packaged in liquid. I think they taste more soft.

Aeri, I would love to email you a pic of my daughter but she has bad eczema(etopy(?)). I can't seem to get a decent picture of her. Her skin is red from the rash and her face is puffy. She's so itchy that she cries alot. =( Your son looks sooo adorable. I'm very jealous at his nice skin. =P

I still look 3 months pregnant!! I guess we need to exercise but I'm too tired and you probably are too. I go on the weight scale periodically and I've been losing weight but I just can't tell where!! My stomach still looks big.
