Tteokbokki is one of the most popular Korean street food and snack in Korea. If you are familiar with tteokbokki, you will easily think of the spicy red tteokbokki. However, today I will show you a very different flavor (but delicious) of tteokbokki, royal palace tteokbokki. (We also call it soy sauce tteokbokki = 간장 떡볶이 = ganjang tteokbokki) The reason they call it royal palace tteokbokki is this dish originated from one of the dishes that they served for the king or his royal family in Korean history. Wow, a dish that Korean kings and queens used to eat, isn’t it special? hehe… The soy sauce mixed with other seasonings and vegetables gives the sticky rice cakes a great taste. Try this delicious tteokbokki someday. : D

This potato pancakes are an amazingly simple but delicious snack to eat. We only need 4-5 ingredients for this recipe. This dish has been requested many times. Interestingly, people who requested it saw this dish on the Korean TV program “Family Outing.” In that program, Hyo-ri Lee cooked this one day, and many people wanted to learn how to make those potato pancakes. So, I watched that program and made this recipe.

This is an another version of a Korean zucchini side-dish. My sister-in-law gave me a very fresh zucchini from her garden the other day, so I made this delicious zucchini side-dish. When I was a kid, I liked making a simple bibimbap with this side-dish whenever my mom made it. To make that simple bibimbap, mix some cooked rice, this side-dish, red pepper paste, kimchi, a fried egg, and some sesame oil to make a wonderfully simple bibimbap. If you are a vegetarian, you can skip the anchovies. And you can also skip the hot pepper if you don’t like spicy food.

You can use beef, pork, mushrooms, etc. for jangjorim, and I already posted one beef jangjorim dish before. It taste similar with meat jangjorim but it is easier to make and is good for meatless diet. The taste combination of egg, garlic, pepper, and soy sauce are very delicious.

This spicy chicken noodle soup is a different version of jjambbong. Since my husband doesn’t eat much seafood, I made a similar noodle dish using chicken instead of seafood like jjambbong. Fortunately, my husband liked it and I wanted to share this recipe with you. Like my other recipes, the homemade broth gives the soup great flavor – artificial seasonings cannot beat it. It has a good combination ingredients and nutrients.
