This Blog’s Content Sections

There is a guest book where you can introduce yourself, ask general questions, or just say hi. There are six main categories in this website. My husband, mother-in-law, and I will manage each category separately.

  1. Korean Food: I (Aeri) will share delicious Korean recipes and cooking videos.
  2. Western Food: My mother-in-law will share delicious Western food recipes.
  3. Ingredients: This category gives more details about various ingredients to my recipes such as pictures, uses, health benefits, etc.
  4. Korean Lessons: I will post Korean language lessons in both text and videos forms.
  5. Misc: This is for anything that does not fit into the categories listed above, written by either my husband or myself.

I was born in Russia but my parents are Korean and I live in the US in Oregon now. =) I have been cooking korean food for a while but wanted to perfect my skills.     merry xmas to everyone out there.! it’s freezing in holland, guess it’s the same story there, right? for xmas, we eat a kind of sweet bread called stollen. it’s yummy especially the marzipan in the middle!

        hello! it’s going to be 2009 soon! happy new year to u. however i’m looking forward to the lunar new year much more! oh, not to forget to update u on my xmas dinner…it turned out really well! i really have u to thank for. that day, i cooked spicy rice cake, kimbap {normal and beef},jap chae, fried fish cake and other western food. i really slaved for the whole xmas! haha…

    i noticed you’ve added an “about me and wishlist” to your guestbook – you love cookbooks just like me! haha i have a large collection. i even subscribe to recipe magazines.

    You don’t like peanut butter? :) when i was pregnant with my daughter, I kept a BIG JAR of Peter Pan Peanut butter in my desk and would eat it with a big spoon. YUMMY! *LOL*

    hehe! That’s how i use my sms on my cellphone. Try not to use it when using my laptop but bad habit dies hard, huh? Just wandering, which part of korea are u from? Alot of my friends have been to korea. They came back with lots of praises. Gosh, we have to go there with our kids next spring. Heard Lotte is a great place for kids, right? Of course,we have to try korean food! that’s the best part! gotta go now, pretty late at my place. One more thing, Cnt w8 4 ur ansa.

    Gr8! Can’t wait for them! BTW, do u need to parboil those rice cakes before u stir fry them in tteokbokki? that’s my hubby’s favourite and he’s fr holland! He thinks korean food is yummy. Now, we try to eat korean food once a week. Hmm,we luv it!

      haha.. Gr8?? wow..that’s cool way to type.. I learned new thing.. Gr8 !!! ;) About your question, if the rice cake is frozen ones.. just parboil short time.. to thaw them.. not too long.. If it’s from refregerator,, you don’t have to do it..just use it..Oh.. you and your husband love Korean food..tell him thanks !!! thank you too !! hehe.. p Enjoy Korean food !!! :D
