Hi Aeri! I love visiting your website to get recipes for my family. My husband and I are both half Korean and my variety in Korean cooking is very small. I live far away from our parents so I look to your site to expand on my Korean cooking and add new recipes that we miss from home. So far every recipe I have tried turned out great. Your attention to detail really makes it easy for Koreans and non-Koreans to understand.

I was wondering if you can make a recipe post for Manul Changachi (Korean pickled garlic). I don’t know if you can do the same with onions but I’d like to learn how to make both the garlic and onions. Thanks! and keep the recipes coming

    • Aeri Lee

      hi Vianca,
Nice to meet you. Wow you and your husband are both half Korean.. my son is half Korean too.. hehe I’m so happy my blog is helpful for you to cook Korean food.
I will add it to my list. ^^ I hope to see you more often in the future.

  2. Kay

Hi Aeri. I love korean food and stumbled upon your website. Your recipes and pictures have inspired me to try cooking korean food. Thanks!

    • Aeri Lee

      hi Kay,
Nice to meet you. Thanks :)

  3. Anne

hi Aeri, I love the new look website ! I am always looking at it for inspiration. My husband can’t have milk and I am not to have to much starch, so Asian food suits us very well. I have been looking in the Korean supermarket and they have many different flavored vinegars. Maybe you could do a post showing their uses, as most of the bottles have no English on them . Thanks keep up the good work !

    • Aeri Lee

      hi Anne,
Yes, that’s a good idea.. I will try to post and explain more about Korean ingredients in the future. thanks :)

  4. Anu

I love this website so far! :) I’ve just started venturing into Korean restaurants so an idea of how and what they made is always nice before I order something I randomly heard in a drama or song! :P
    Thanks! :)

    • Aeri Lee

      hi Anu,
haha.. so far.. I hope you like my site continuously in the future.. ;) nice to meet you.

  5. Kimie

    Hi Aeri,

Emery and I were here checking out your blog, and were talking about how popular you’re site has become. Anyway, have you thought about adding a way for companies to advertise on here, or see if any companies you like would advertise? You have so many people who love you’re blog it would be a great way for you to make some extra money and help pay for the upkeep of your blog.

Oh, well good luck, and your recipes that look great!

    All the best,
    Kimie and Emery

    • Aeri Lee

      hi Kimie,
Thank you for your comment. yes we are blessed to have so many visitors now…
Yes, it will be great if we can make some extra money to support our blog since I spend my time to keep this blog instead having a job…and it costs money to maintain blog that I didn’t expect much at the beginning since it’s growing.. btw..why you are asking those questions ??
I wish good luck for your blog too.

      • Kimie

        Hi Aeri,
Sorry it’s taken me a little while to get back to you. Well, our blog isn’t popular yet, but we’re trying. :???: Anyway, while I’ve been doing a lot of research about how to get more traffic, I’ve been learning about how other people who have a popular blog make money to help them with the cost. Since you know Emery and I love you’re blog, and check it regularly I noticed that you hadn’t any companies advertising. So, I thought I’d ask, because we think you’re great, and your blog seems to be getting more popular all the time. Maybe it would help. We wish you all the success, and hope you’ll keep going.
Thank you for the luck. Looks like we’ll need it. :)
        Take care,
        Kimie-ya ;)

        • Aeri Lee

          hi Kimie,
Oh.. no worries.. I reply comments late also. I hope your blog becomes successful. Thanks for your good words. Yes, I will like to do this as my full time job someday..which means.. I can earn enough money to support this blog and our home through my blog.. but right now.. I don’t have enough time to spend lots of time on blog with my little baby. hehe… anyway.. thanks again..Good luck to you too.

  6. Dina

Dear Aeri, I love your website :) Love your recipes, they are easy to follow. I have a question. I went to a Korean store and bought salted seaweed stem non frozen already packed. They also had them in the frozen section and wasn’t sure which one to buy at that time. Would that change the taste when I make a side dish? Have a blessed day. Greetings from Florida.

    • Aeri Lee

      Hi Dina,
Since you have both choices.. I will recommend you get the one in the refrigerator not freezer.. ^^ Nice to meet you..thanks

  7. Young Santiago

  8. Annie Whitcomb

    Hello Aeri,

You are my favorite Korean Chef, and I love your recipes. I use your recipe for bulgogi over and and over. I was sitting around thinking what if someone made a really delicious Korean Style Potato salad. I imagined it being spicy, garlicky and creamy. What do you think? How would you approach applying Korean flavors and ingredients to an American side dish?

Thanks again for all your vids and recipes,

    Annie

    • Aeri Lee

      hi Annie Whitcomb,
wow.. chef.. hehe I’m not a chef.. but thanks for your compliment. haha.. I like your imagination.. our potato salad is not spicy .. or garlicky though..^^ I will think of it more.. thanks

  9. ditdut

Hi Aeri, I just found your site this morning through a random search for Godeungo Jorim! Thank you so much for the recipes. I recently stayed for a few months in Seoul and am craving the food so bad since I got back. Thankfully there are a lot of Korean restaurants where I live, but there are some dishes that are rarely available here. So I just want to express my gratitude for posting those that aren’t easily found!

I’ve got a couple of requests for recipe :) . One is the spicy Haemul Jjim and I’m also echoing the below comment for Jjimdalk!

    • Aeri Lee

      hi ditdut,
Nice to meet you. :) I hope you had wonderful time in Korea.
I will add your requests in my list. thanks

  11. Sarah Paik

I’m newly married to a Korean and have been trying to find easy recipes that don’t require a Korean market. Thank you so much for all your instructions and pictures! I can’t wait to try some out and surprise my husand, he’ll be so impressed. Many blessings to you and your family!
    Sarah Paik

      thanks..

  12. Cynthia

Hello Aeri I love your site. I am not sure if you have this already listed somewhere but I was wondering how many side dishes is someone suppose to serve with a main dish, ex. three side dish including kimchi with a soup? Is there a special way the meals are suppose to be organized? Thanks.

    • Aeri Lee

      hi Cynthia,
There are no rules … how many side dishes you have to have something like that.. just if you wonder typical Korean people’s meal… yes kimchi will be basic side-dishes we serve for every meal.. we have different kinds of kimchi.. 1 or 2 side-dishes.. you can keep in the refrigerator for weeks.. 1 or 2 side-dishes you can easily make before meal.. so it will be 4 or 5 side-dishes total.. serve with rice and soup.. Korean people like to eat fried fish.. or meat dish (bulgogi.. galbi.. spicy chicken) as a kind of main dish also…thanks

    Hi, Aeri!
I love Korean food (my favourite:짬뽕) , and I love your Youtube Channel. I also dislike sweet desserts and peanut butter(salty is much better). Also, as I have already posted in one of your videos, your voice is sweet.

    • Aeri Lee

      hi RedRanger123,
Oh.. very interesting.. you know what.. I can see.. they are from North Korea.. they have heavy accent from North Korean people..which means.. they might use some Korean words that South Koreans will not use or understand.. we(South Korea.. and North Korea..) use same Korean language ..but the accent and some words became different since we divided.. My opinion is.. I will prefer to learn from South Korean … Here is a good site for you I want to recommend.. http://www.talktomeinkorean.com/
You can learn Korean language for free..and they have Youtube Channel too… and you can learn from me too ;) thanks..
