Yangmyeom tongdak (양념 통닭) must be the most popular snack food in Korea. There are many restaurants that offer free delivery service to your home with no tipping. Many companies deliver their food until midnight, and this fried chicken is always a popular choice in Korea. Whenever people have to be up late into the night watching the Olympics, World Cup, or other big events, the fried chicken restaurants will be very busy. lol This chicken is nicely battered and fried with a slightly sweet and spicy sauce. Napa cabbage soybean paste guk is a healthy and delicious daily soup in Korea. Napa cabbage is mainly used for making kimchi in Korean cuisine, but sometimes it is used for soup, side dishes, or as an ingredient in a main dish. When you make kimchi, you might throw away some of the Napa cabbage leaves since they are not fresh or good. You can use those Napa cabbage leaves instead of throwing them out. You can also buy a small Napa cabbage for just this soup. Try this someday.

Whenever we order fried chicken in Korea, this pickled radish comes along with it. Usually the amount they give isn’t enough. So it is great to make extra picked radish at home, or if you make Korean fried chicken at home, you can make this picked radish too. It can’t be any easier or simpler than this. Try it someday.

Soybean sprout guk is the most common daily soup in Korea. Since it is very quick and simple to make, and the flavor is mild, it is popular as a Korean breakfast soup. Korean people say that it is also good for a hangover, but I cannot attest to that. There are different versions of soybean sprout soup; this recipe is a basic version. Try it someday.

Sweet corn salad is a popular side dish that Western restaurants such as KFC and Pizza Hut serve in Korea. It might seem strange since this recipe is not served in the USA, but many Western restaurants change their menu according to local tastes. That means this recipe is a Korean styled dish, even though it was popularized by Western restaurants. The flavor is very good when eating greasy food. The onion and sweet pepper, in a sweet and sour sauce, helps to remove the oily taste from your mouth. It also can be good as an appetizer or side dish for other kinds of food.
