Korean pancake mix is a flour mix used to make Korean style pancakes, Jeaon. As the name says, it already has all of ingredients for making pancake batter except the water. Simply mix this powder with some water and add different kinds of vegetables or seafood in it. To make them taste better, I usually mix some normal flour with this, and sometimes add frying mix (when I want to make them more crispy.)

  • Use:
    For Korean Pancake (Jeon)

  • Storage:
    Keep in the cabinet.

  • Short Korean lesson: *^^*
    BuChimGae (부침개)=Korean Pancake
    GaRu (가루)=Powder

Korean pancake, I bet they are better than Ihop pancake. The seafood idea sounds like a good idea in pancake.

Hi Aeri! I just discovered your site, and it’s great!

I’m wondering if you have a substitute for this pancake mix, using basic ingredients? I’ll be moving to a developing country for a year, and they don’t have things like ready-made mixes available :(

    hi Ingrid,
Happy to meet you. Aha, don’t worry, you can just use all purpose flour instead of pancake mix. Actually, I prefer to use normal flour sometimes…since I don’t like some flavor it has in it.. such as black pepper powder…so.. just use normal flour.. it works fine. thanks
