There are many different kinds of Korean Pancakes according to what kind of vegetables, seafood, or meat you use. This hobak-jeon is one of them. (Hobak means zucchini and Jeon means pancake in Korean) Even if people call jeon as a pancake in English, the taste will be a little different from what you expect because it is not sweet. You can eat this as a snack or side-dish. Try simple and delicious this dish someday. :D

Ingredients:

  • 1 Cup Flour
  • 1 Cup Water
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 Medium Size Zucchini
  • 1/2 Onion
  • 1 Red Hot Pepper
  • 1/2 tsp Salt

Dipping Sauce Ingredients:

Yield: 2 Servings

Julienne a zucchini, chop 1/2 onion very finely, and slice 1 hot red pepper thinly.

In a bowl, combine 1 cup of water, 1 cup of flour, 1 egg, and 1/2 tsp of salt. Mix well.

  1. Add the vegetables into the batter.
  2. Mix all of the ingredients well.

  1. On a slightly oiled pan, pour 1 spoon of the batter and spread it to make a round shape.
  2. Fry them until they become golden brown.

Serve this with the dipping sauce. Thank you. :D

This HAS to be the simplest recipe on the site. Too easy to NOT try. This was delicious. One by one I am going to try and make everything you show us. Everyone should try this one. It only takes about 20 minutes from taking out the fry pan to serving. Thanks again.
