Today, I will share a delicious traditional Korean holiday food using beef. Basically, you marinate some beef with bulgogi sauce and fry it covered with flour and egg. It is a very savory food that you can serve for your party or for a special meal. My husband and son loved it very much. Try it someday. 🙂

Video Instructions
Main Ingredients
- ½ Cup All Purpose Flour (3 Pinches Salt)
- 3 Eggs (3 Pinches Salt)
- Some Cooking Oil
Beef Ingredients
- 1 Cup Thin Cut Beef (½ lb)
- 1 Tbsp Soy Sauce
- 1 Tbsp Green Onion
- 1 tsp Garlic, Minced
- 1 tsp Sugar
- 1 tsp Cooking Wine (or Water)
- ½ tsp Sesame Oil
- 2 Pinches Black Pepper
Directions
Obtain about 1 cup (½ lb) worth of thinly sliced beef. Cut it into about 1.5 x 3 inch rectangle shapes. You can use a different type of meat if you would like to. If you are a vegetarian, you can also use firm tofu or mushrooms instead of meat for this recipe.
Mix all the ingredients for the beef, except for the beef itself, in a mixing bowl.
Add the beef to the sauce and marinate it for at least 20 minutes. If you want a shortcut for this, you can use Sempio’s premade bulgogi sauce. Simply pour about 2 Tbsp of the sauce and add 1 Tbsp finely chopped green onions in the bowl instead. Another shortcut is instead of marinating the beef in bulgogi sauce, just seasoning the beef with some black pepper and salt on both sides of the beef.
Put ½ cup of all purpose flour in a wide bottomed dish with 3 pinches of salt. Break and mix 3 eggs in another wide bottomed dish with 3 pinches of salt.
20 minutes later, cover each piece of the marinated beef with some flour evenly.
Dip the flour covered beef into the egg mixture to cover it with egg evenly.
Put the egg covered beef on a heated and generously oiled nonstick pan. Fry it on medium-high.
When one side becomes nicely golden brown, flip the beef and cook the other side until it becomes golden brown.
It is already seasoned nicely, so you don’t need any dipping sauce. This meat jeon is both tasty when it is cold or hot. Enjoy!

This looks delicious and easy to do. I am going to make it this weekend for an appetizer. I think that I will add some cayenne pepper to the flour for half of the meat as I like spicy snacks. Thank you for the recipe.
