There are many different kinds of Korean jeon depending on what kind of vegetables, seafood, or meat you use. Hobak jeon is one of them. Hobak means zucchini and jeon means pancake. Jeon may be called a “pancake” in English, but the taste will be a little different from what you expect because it is not sweet. You can eat this as a snack or side dish. Try this simple and delicious dish someday. π

Think You again, I like to Think you rather than to Thank You:))) I also Think that Korean Cooking is going to my Head:)))
Ciao Bella and Sweet Bryson:))
I am loving reading all the delicious recipes and can’t wait to try them. I was introduced to Korean food while visiting my daughter in Hawaii. I wondered if you could use spiral sliced zucchini in this recipe instead of julienned. my spiral slicer is very fast and my julienne method is very slow, lol. I also wondered about using whole wheat or other flours rather than just white?
Thank you for all the wonderful recipes!!
hi jacpac00,
Yes, you can use that sprial sliced zucchini for this recipe. π I like to have that slice too.. sounds cool..hehe You can use other type of wheat flour you like to use.. thanks
Hey Aeri, I just made this and mine is all burnt but I still have extra batter. I’m wondering what to do.
hi Min-Gi Kang,
I’m sorry but I don’t know what you mean.. you said all yours was burn but still have extra batter.. ^^:; So you mean, your fist batch to fry on the pan all burnt ? so you don’t know how to do with your leftover batter because you don’t want to burn them ?? I don’t know what exactly happened there..but maybe you reduce the temperature..and don’t leave your stove top.. make sure that you flip your fritters before they burnt..
