Hi everyone. I’ve been sick for 2 weeks in February. Now, I feel normal again and I’m happy to start to make recipes again. Please take care of yourself and don’t get sick like me. It is not pleasant to be in the bed without an appetite and energy. The downside my recovery is that my appetite is back and I want to eat food all the time. I keep thinking about delicious food. lol So, I use my situation to come up with delicious recipe ideas. And today, I will share one of them with you. Oh, I’m super excited now. It is “Cheese Fire Chicken” called cheese buldak (치즈 불닭) in Korean. It is a spicy chicken that is served with melted cheese. The chicken is marinated and fried with a very spicy sauce, so people call it fire chicken. Your mouth will burn like fire from the spiciness. However, the cheese reduces the spiciness of the chicken and creates a very tasty combination of flavors. My husband normally doesn’t like fusion food much. So, when I described this dish to him at first, he wasn’t that excited about it. Korean spicy chicken with cheese? Nah~~~~ lol But, once he tried it, he was very impressed by the flavor. Short Korean Lesson
- EongDeongI (엉덩이) = Hip
- HeoBeokJi (허벅지) = Thigh
- 3 Cups Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
- 1 Chicken Breast (1¼ Cup) – 2 Pinches Each Salt and Black Pepper
- ½ Cup Onion
- 2 Tbsp Red Hot Pepper
- 2 Tbsp Green Hot Pepper
- 2 Tbsp Pineapple Juice
- 1 Tbsp Cooking Oil
- 1 tsp Sesame Seeds
- Some Dried Parsley (for Garnish)
- 3 Tbsp Pineapple (1 Ring)
- 2 Tbsp Onion
- 1 Tbsp Pineapple Juice
- ¼ Cup Hot Pepper Powder
- 1 Tbsp Hot Pepper Paste
- 1 Tbsp Garlic, Minced
- ½ Tbsp Soy Sauce
- 1 tsp Sugar
Obtain 1 chicken breast (12 oz) and cut it into bite-sized pieces. You will get about 1¼ cup.
Season the chicken with 2 pinches each of salt and black pepper. Marinate it while you are preparing the other ingredients.
Obtain 3 Tbsp of pineapple (1 Ring), 2 Tbsp of an onion, and 1 Tbsp of pineapple juice. Cut the pineapple and onion into 1/2 inch pieces.
Put the pineapple, onion, and the pineapple juice in a blender and blend them. This mixture will be a secret ingredient for delicious chicken in this recipe.
In a mixing bowl, add the pineapple mixture and the rest of the sauce ingredients: ¼ cup hot pepper powder, 1 Tbsp hot pepper paste, 1 Tbsp minced garlic, ½ Tbsp soy sauce, and 1 tsp sugar. Mix everything together.
Add the marinated chicken to the sauce and mix.
Cut ½ cup worth of an onion into 1/2 inch pieces. Cut 2 Tbsp each of red hot pepper and green hot pepper into ½ inch pieces.
Add 1 Tbsp of cooking oil in a heated pan.
Add the chicken and chopped vegetables to the pan and fry for about 2 minutes on medium-high.
2 minutes later, pour 2 Tbsp of pineapple juice on the chicken and fry for 8 minutes.
You will have a delicious spicy chicken that you can just enjoy as is, but to make it even tastier and more fun to enjoy, we will add some more ingredients.
Obtain about 3 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese. Depending on your tastes, you can use more or less cheese for this recipe. I like lots of cheese. 🙂
Put all the cheese in a heated nonstick pan or cast iron pan on medium.
When the cheese starts to melt, quickly put all the fried chicken in the center of the pan.
Sprinkle 1 tsp of sesame seeds on the chicken and some of the dried parsley on the cheese to garnish.
It looks spicy and tasty. While I was editing the video, I drooled because I could smell and taste the delicious spicy and cheesy chicken. hmmm yummy ~~~ I highly recommend you try this recipe someday soon. Thanks.
